The Deep Brief is A weekly letter for people who feel it before they can name it.

newsletter

Every Monday, I write a newsletter about what people are actually feeling or going through this week. The patterns underneath the surface, the beliefs that cost more than they give, and the honest ways through.

This is not a wellness newsletter or inbox filler, but a weekly reading of what's moving, from someone who's been reading these patterns for over thirty-five years.

Each letter holds three movements:

One pattern I'm seeing right now. What people are bumping into, what's cracking open, or what's asking to be noticed.

One belief that's costing more than it gives. The spiritual cliché, wellness assumption, or the piece of pop-psychology that sounds true but isn't. I name it plainly.

One relational landing of how the pattern is showing up in real life, why it's hard to figure out alone, and what the honest way through looks like.

I write it for people who already understand a lot but want language for what they can't quite articulate yet. People who feel things before they make sense, and are tired of being told that peace is on the other side of one more affirmation. People who want interpretation, not advice.

I've been writing versions of The Deep Brief since 1997, and it's the closest thing I have to a public classroom. It's where I put the interpretive work I do privately with clients into language that anyone reading it can use.

It's also, honestly, the way most people who eventually work with me first got a sense of how I think. If you're curious about what I do, this is where it lives out loud.
