Is that the sun I see coming out today? Please?
Hi. It’s Jonni from The Time Traveller’s Life. With summer just around the corner, I wanted to share some thoughts on the magic of this season from a transpersonal perspective.
The days will grow longer, and the sun *will* shine brighter because summer is a time of expansion, growth, and light. And if you want to make this summer one of deep growth and vibrant living, blend the spiritual with the psychological and the universal with the personal to create the juiciest, most harmonious interplay of energies.
It’s about connecting the dots between what’s happening out there and what’s stirring inside you.
If you’re like me, doing your best to live vibrantly in your boundless self, then sometimes it feels like life’s just testing how bright we can really shine, right? So, I thought I’d share fresh perspectives and ideas to help you move through this summer with a high vibe and a resilient spirit.
Every summer, I jump headfirst into my garden. Yes, I grow vegetables and flowers, but it’s also my sanctuary, my place of Zen.
A few summers ago, I remember feeling overwhelmed by the chaos of life. The relentless noise of the world was all bearing down on me. But every morning, I’d step into my garden, usually barefoot, and feel the earth between my toes. I’d set my intention for the day right there among the tomato plants and cucumbers. This simple act literally grounded me and set the positive tone I needed for the day.
If you want to harness the magic of summer, think summer intentions, nature’s zen, sensory bliss, energy refresh, and reflective nights because that’s my tried and true formula.
👉 Now for the how.
Start your mornings with a daily intention that captures the essence of what you want to experience. It’s just like planting seeds in the fertile soil of your mind, and it sets the stage for a day filled with purpose and joy.
Find moments to breathe deeply and soak in the natural beauty around you. If you don’t have a garden, try a walk in the park, a moment by the water, or just sitting under a tree. These little pauses are your golden tickets to peace.
For me, it’s watering my flowers and veg early in the morning, listening to the robins’ chatter, and watching the dew glisten on the petals. It’s a moment of pure magic.
Lavender, citrus, or a splash of peppermint can be your superhero tools. A whiff of these can ground you and bring you back to centre in the summer frenzy. In my garden, the scent of basil and mint always brings me back to the present, no matter how hectic the day gets.
A cool shower or a luxurious bath melts away the day’s stress. Let the water cleanse your energy field, too. It’ll leave you refreshed and ready for a good night’s sleep. I love ending my day with a bath infused with lavender oil, letting go of all the things on my list I didn’t get done.
When you lay in bed, think about the day’s highlights and lessons—the wins, too! Consciously, gently release any tensions. I often smile as I recount the day’s triumphs and plan the next day’s adventures.
At its heart, summer is another chance to sync up with the universal flow and let it guide you to new heights. You don’t have to settle for the background noise of life. Turn up the volume on your chosen soundtrack and let it resonate with the whole world.
Your summer can be whatever you want to make it.
P.S. If you’re feeling a bit off or your sparkle is dimming, I’m here for you. Life can get crazy and complicated, and sometimes we just need someone in our corner.
