Remember last week when I told you Mercury Retrograde was asking you to reconsider your certainties and question what you’ve been loudly saying versus what you actually know?
This week, it stops asking nicely.
Mercury is backtracking into things you thought you’d already processed. I’m talking about late October territory with depth, intensity, maybe some uncomfortable conversations, but definitely truth. You thought that chapter was closed, so you moved on. But think again. This retrograde has other plans.
When Mercury first moved through this psychological terrain in late October, I bet you were dealing with some raw, immediate things and were probably a little overwhelmed. But because you were in it, it was hard to see all of it. You probably caught some of the truth, maybe named some of the patterns, and had some of the realizations. But not all of them.
So, now you’re going back, because there’s more to see, understand, and integrate. The retrograde is basically saying, “Okay, you got the surface truth. Now let’s go deeper.” And deeper can sometimes mean more uncomfortable.
Here’s what makes this week particularly intense
You’re not just revisiting old psychological territory, though; you’re doing it with more information than you had the first time. So, things that seemed unclear in October, even conversations you thought were finished, might need a follow-up. There’s another layer under the patterns you thought you’d identified.
This retrograde is connecting dots you didn’t realize were part of the same picture, so pay attention to what keeps coming up. Are there some thoughts that won’t leave you alone? A dream that feels too specific to ignore? The pattern you keep seeing everywhere you look?
Think of it as information trying to break through the noise.
Your psyche knows something your conscious mind hasn’t caught up to yet, and this week creates the conditions for that knowing to finally surface.
And just so you know, it usually implicates you, not in a “you’re the villain” way, but in a “you were more complicit than you wanted to admit” way.
In a “you saw it and pretended you didn’t” way.
In a “you knew and convinced yourself you were wrong” way.
Definitely interesting.
The retrograde doesn’t let you keep pretending
As information surfaces, the thing you suspected but couldn’t prove might suddenly become provable. Said another way, the truth that others have been carefully not saying will probably get said.
It’s illumination. But illumination of things that were hiding in the dark for a reason can often feel like exposure. So, yes, some of what surfaces this week could be shocking, because it confirms what part of you already knew but was hoping you were wrong about.
You weren’t wrong.
In the middle of all this intensity, you’ll know this in a moment of clarity. Like a break in the storm clouds, where you can suddenly see the entire landscape. What’s been confusing might click into place. What’s been fragmented might become a coherent story. And what’s been hidden might become obvious.
This is the gift in the middle of the retrograde mess. It’s a moment when your mind and your intuition align perfectly. What you know logically and what you feel deeply finally tell the same story.
Write it down.
Because that kind of clarity won’t last. The retrograde fog will roll back in, but the insight is real. You’ll need to remember it later.
It’s a seed. It’s a new beginning based on what you now know. And it’s been trying to reach you since October.
But you can’t build anything real on a foundation of what you wish was true. You can only build on what actually is. This week strips away the wishful thinking and leaves you with what’s real.
That can be brutal but it can also be liberating.
What this week demands
If new information is coming through that contradicts what you thought you knew, let it. Your certainty isn’t more important than the truth. Stop defending old positions.
Pay attention to what comes back. The conversation that resurfaces, the person who reappears, and the issue you thought was resolved are likely unfinished business demanding attention.
You thought you’d figured it out in October. Turns out there’s more to figure out. That’s not regression as much as depth.
Also, trust your intuition more than your logic if you had to choose one. Your mind will try to rationalize, explain away, and make you comfortable. But your intuition knows better. Listen to it.
You’re not going backwards. You’re spiralling deeper into the same issue, which is how actual transformation happens. Surface-level processing doesn’t change anything. This does.
Get honest about what you’ve been avoiding. The retrograde will keep bringing you back to the same place until you actually deal with it. So deal with it. Now. While you have support from the cosmic timing.
Integrate what you couldn’t integrate the first time through. You’re seeing what you weren’t ready to see in October, and connecting patterns that seemed separate but are actually the same wound showing up in different places.
This is deep work. The kind that actually changes things and doesn’t just give you insight but rewires how you operate.
And yes, it’s uncomfortable. And disorienting. Yes, it would be easier if you could just move forward without having to go back.
But you can’t.
Not if you actually want to change the pattern and stop repeating the same dynamics. Not if you actually want to build something real instead of something that looks good on the surface but collapses under pressure.
The retrograde is giving you another chance at something you weren’t quite ready for in October.
Don’t waste the retrograde’s gift by pretending you already did this work. You started it. Now you get to finish it.
And when Mercury goes direct on November 29th, you’ll move forward with some actual clarity instead of performed certainty. That’s worth the discomfort.
So this week, go back, go deeper, and let the truth that’s trying to surface actually surface. Stop protecting yourself from what you need to know. Don’t groan about having to deal with it again. Be grateful you’re getting a second chance to see it clearly.
Most people don’t.
