THE DEEP BRIEF – Week of August 25, 2025
There’s something about the last week of August that feels like standing at the edge of a diving board. You can feel the depth below you and sense the coolness of the water waiting, but you’re still on solid ground. You still have a moment to breathe, look around, and feel the anticipation building in your chest.
It’s threshold energy at its most potent. Not quite summer anymore, but not yet fall. Not quite the same person you were when the season started, but not yet whoever you’re becoming next. It’s that liminal space where possibilities hover just out of reach like a shimmering heat wave on the horizon.
I’ve always loved this particular kind of anticipation. The way late August holds both completion and beginning in the same breath. You know change is coming, whether you’re ready or not, but it gives you just enough time to align with your soul for the shift.
This week, as we stand on the precipice of eclipse season and the great cosmic rearrangement that’s about to erupt, we’re getting a final invitation to savour the pause before the plunge and feel into what we’re carrying forward as well as what we’re ready to leave behind.
Fall is coming. And fall is the season when truth surfaces, illusions rot, and the next version of you starts clearing her throat. Your soul’s been three steps ahead this whole time, and it’s almost time for the catch-up conversation between you and the deeper design of your life.
THE WEEK’S ENERGY
There’s an exquisite tension building in the collective field right now, like the moment before a storm when the air gets heavy and electric, and every living thing can sense that something significant is about to shift. We’re moving through the final days of preparation before eclipse season officially begins, and the universe is giving us this last sweet moment of relative calm.
But it’s not static calm. It’s the kind of purposeful stillness that happens when everything is gathering energy for what comes next. It’s the deep breath an athlete takes before launching into their routine, or the moment a musician holds before the opening note of a performance they’ve been preparing for all their life.
This week, you might notice your system doing its own version of final preparations. Old memories surfacing for no apparent reason. Dreams becoming more vivid and symbolic. Random encounters that feel loaded with meaning. And even your intuition speaking louder than it has in months. These are downloads. It’s your soul making sure you have everything you need for what’s coming.
The cosmic energy is also shifting in a way that brings playfulness back into the mix. After weeks of serious work, deep reflection, and practical focus, try to remember that transformation doesn’t have to be grim. Approach your big changes with curiosity instead of dread. I promise you, evolution can be joyful, even when it’s intense.
WHAT IT MIGHT FEEL LIKE
You might find yourself caught between excitement and anxiety or unable to name exactly what you’re anticipating but feeling it in your bones.
There could be moments of sudden clarity about patterns you’ve been living that feel completely outdated. Not necessarily dramatic revelations, but quiet recognitions. Like looking at a piece of clothing in your closet and realizing you haven’t worn it in two years because it no longer feels like you.
You might notice an urge to clean, organize, or complete unfinished projects as preparation. Your system knows that change is coming and wants to clear the deck for whatever’s next. Trust the impulse to tie up loose ends and create space.
Or you might feel drawn to reconnect with creative practices you let gather dust. Pick up the guitar, open the sketchbook, write in your journal – even if you haven’t in months. I love threshold energy because it calls your creative soul forward, knowing you’ll need those channels open for what’s ahead.
You might also notice time feeling strange, as though it’s simultaneously speeding up and slowing down. I’m talking about moments of deep presence punctuated by flashes of “where did the summer go?” It’s normal threshold territory. Linear time gets wobbly when we’re standing between worlds.
SOUL PERSPECTIVE
Here’s what I’m sensing from the field. We’re being invited to meet the coming changes not as something happening to us, but as something we’re actively co-creating with the universe. This isn’t being swept away by forces beyond our control. It’s more like stepping into conscious partnership with the deeper intelligence that’s been orchestrating our growth all along.
The eclipse energy that’s building, wants to strip away the layers of conditioning, expectation, and compromise that have been obscuring our true path, and show us the difference between the life we’ve been living and the life we came here to live.
So, trust that you’re ready for what’s coming, even if you don’t feel ready. Readiness isn’t having all the answers or feeling completely prepared. Readiness is being willing to meet uncertainty with curiosity and face change with an open heart. You’ll be surprised by your own capacity for growth.
Your soul has been working behind the scenes all year. Your conscious mind might feel unprepared, but the deeper parts of you have been getting ready for months. Trust that preparation and intelligence. Your soul knows exactly what it’s doing.
HOW TO BE WITH IT
Step into the threshold energy instead of trying to rush through it. This moment before the plunge is sacred time. Use it to feel into what you want to carry forward and what you’re ready to release, not as a mental exercise, but as a body-based sensing.
Pay attention to what’s calling your attention this week, whether it’s random conversations, surprise invitations, books that fall off shelves, and even songs that get stuck in your head. Threshold time is when the universe drops breadcrumbs for what’s coming. Collect them without needing to understand their significance yet.
Create space for your creativity to stretch and yawn and remember itself. Even if you don’t consider yourself creative, find small ways to make a meal, a playlist, maybe a rearranged room. Creative energy and change energy are intimately connected, and one feeds the other.
Also, trust your impulses to clean, organize, complete, or clear out things. These aren’t distractions from more important work. They are the work. Creating space for new growth means releasing what no longer serves. So, let yourself be guided by what wants attention.
And most importantly, practice holding both anticipation and presence. Yes, change is coming. Yes, it’s going to be significant. But this moment, this breath, this heartbeat, this exact configuration of light and shadow, is also precious and will never come again. Don’t rush through now to get to next.
YOUR WEEK IN ONE SENTENCE
“This week, I stop trying to figure out what’s next and start trusting I can handle whatever shows up.”
MINI PRACTICE FOR THRESHOLD SENSING
Before bed, each evening this week, place your hand on your heart and ask: “What is my soul preparing me for?” Listen without analyzing. Then ask: “What do I need to release to make space for what’s coming?” Again, just listen.
Finally: “How can I trust the process even when I can’t see the outcome?” Let whatever comes up settle into your body like seeds planted in fertile soil. By the end of the week, you’ll have created a direct line of communication with the part of you that sees the bigger picture.
ANYWAY
This week, if the anticipation feels overwhelming, remember that you’re not supposed to have all the answers yet. When you catch glimpses of who you’re becoming, don’t dismiss them as fantasy. It’s actually previews of what’s possible.
You’re standing at the edge of everything changing, and that’s exactly where you’re supposed to be. The diving board isn’t meant to be comfortable. But it’s the last solid thing you touch before you remember you know how to fly.
Trust that your soul has been three steps ahead this whole time.

PS: Fall doesn’t just happen to us. It calls us into compost, clarity, and claiming. I’m putting together a 45-day one-on-one soul companioning by email (September 15 to October 31) as the catch-up conversation between you and the deeper design of your life. This isn’t a course or a journey. It’s a seasonal soul correspondence that’s intimate, sacred, and electric with insight between you and me. . More coming soon…
