Tomorrow is August

I'm

Jonni

Think of me as that friend who spots the magic in Monday mornings and can make concepts like 'multidimensional consciousness' feel as natural as chatting over coffee. I blend my PhD in transpersonal psychology with 35 years of walking beside others through their life's plot twists. Together, we'll find the extraordinary hiding in your ordinary moments (trust me, it's there!). Whether through soul-deep conversations, pattern mapping, or weekly insights that make sense of life's grand (and sometimes puzzling) timing, I'm here to help you discover just how brilliant your story really is.

Thursday musings on last chances, preparation rituals, and the soul’s inconvenient timing.

Yesterday I found myself reorganizing my spice cabinet with the kind of intensity usually reserved for nuclear disarmament.

It wasn’t because my cumin was causing international incidents, but because tomorrow is August, and apparently my soul thinks this means getting my literal house in order before the metaphorical one follows suit.

So, there I was, misspelling cardamom and wondering when I became the sort of person who feels compelled to declutter before month transitions, until I remembered that August is preparation month. It’s the month when your soul starts nudging urgent suggestions about what needs attention before September crashes through the door with its back-to-everything energy.

You know September. September doesn’t knock. September arrives with demands, schedules, and the subtle panic of time speeding up again. September is the friend who shows up at your door with seventeen different plans and expects you to be ready.

August, meanwhile, is the month that sidles up quietly and asks: So… what do we need to sort out before chaos becomes charming again?

When the soul keeps inconvenient office hours

Last week, a client emailed me at 5:17 AM. She wasn’t having a crisis; she was moving through a breakthrough and wanted me to walk with her. And, of course, it arrived when her defences were down and her mind had finally stopped managing the narrative.

She emailed, “I just realized that I’ve been afraid of taking up space my entire life. And I think it started when I was seven and my teacher said I was ‘too much’ during show-and-tell.”

Now, this is precisely the kind of insight that therapy appointments are designed for. Except insights don’t keep business hours. They arrive when they arrive, during midnight contemplation, mid-shower revelations, or while you’re alphabetizing spices and questioning your life choices.

The problem with these kind of realizations is they’re terribly inconvenient. They don’t wait for your next session to surface, and they certainly don’t like being put on hold while you figure out how to process them alone.

The August readiness phenomenon

I also started to realize that in the month of August in my practice over the last 35 years, people show up with a particular quality of readiness that’s not the desperate kind. It’s more the soul kind. A recognition that something’s been asking for attention, and maybe, just maybe, now is the time to give it.

It’s like the soul uses the late summer energy to get your attention. To say: Before everything speeds up again, can we please deal with this thing?

I remember last August, a woman was working with me because she kept dreaming about houses. Seriously. And it was always the same house and she was always searching for rooms she couldn’t find. We discovered she’d been looking for herself in everyone else’s approval for fifty-three years. This spring, she sent me a photo of the garden she’d planted in her new home. “Found the room,” she wrote. I love it!

The thing about August preparation is it’s not about organizing your spice cabinet (though apparently that helps). It’s creating space for what wants to come through before life gets loud again. Boom.

When once-a-week isn’t enough

Your soul’s timing doesn’t respect your calendar. And breakthroughs and talk throughs happen more often than not, between appointments. It’s like how patterns surface during ordinary moments, and old wounds announce themselves while you’re making coffee. I mean, even clarity usually strikes when you’re stuck in traffic.

Which is why my most popular offering is Unlimited Texting/Emailing. It’s built for all the moments when you’re going through can’t wait for next Tuesday at 3 PM.

And in case you don’t know…it’s unlimited support that moves at the speed of real life. You can text me when insight hits. You can email when confusion swirls. And I respond with the kind of presence and perspective that helps things make sense, right when they need to make sense.

There’s also a version I call Unlimited Soul Companion where I reach out to you daily with real check-ins, soul nudges when you need them, and reflections on what’s actually happening in your world.. Think of it as having a wise companion who sees both your human mess and your soul’s bigger picture, available when you actually need them.

The August proposition

All this to say that if you’ve been sensing that something’s ready to shift, if you’re tired of processing alone, if you know you need more than scheduled support for whatever’s moving through you, August might be extending an invitation. Not because there’s anything particularly magical about calendar transitions. But because your soul might be using this threshold time to get your attention. To say: Now. Before everything speeds up. This is when we tend to what matters.

And for those who prefer the spoken word to the written one, I also offer individual sessions where we can explore through conversation. Sometimes the voice needs to be heard, the story needs to be spoken aloud.

The bottom line (or what my spice cabinet taught me)

So, the bottom line is, August is the month for getting your ducks in a row—literally, in my case, since mine have opinions about their routines. But metaphorically, it’s about aligning with what your soul has been trying to tell you before September arrives with its beautiful chaos.

If something’s been asking for deeper attention, deeper support, and deeper companionship, this might be your moment. Not because you have to, but because you’re ready.

You know, there’s something I didn’t expect when I started offering unlimited support. It changes everything. Not just for the moments of crisis or confusion, but the quiet recognitions, the small shifts, and the everyday happenings that suddenly has witness and meaning. When you know someone is truly there, not just scheduled to be there, your soul starts speaking up more often. It trusts that it will be heard.

PS: Here’s exactly what happens when you choose “Unlimited” support: You get my direct contact info and can reach out anytime by text and/or email, whenever something needs attention. I respond quickly, usually within the hour. You have me when you need me.

Choose “Unlimited Soul Companion” and you get all of that PLUS I reach out to you every single day with personal check-ins, and gentle suggestions and reminders on what I sense.

No scheduling, no wondering if your timing is inconvenient, no processing alone when you don’t have to. You get to connect whenever you want, and you get someone who truly sees both your daily reality and your deeper soul design. I believe the most significant shifts happen when support shows up exactly when you need it, not when the calendar says it’s time.
