A Seasonal Astro-Soul Check-In with Jonni & Marielle

I'm

Jonni

Think of me as that friend who spots the magic in Monday mornings and can make concepts like 'multidimensional consciousness' feel as natural as chatting over coffee. I blend my PhD in transpersonal psychology with 35 years of walking beside others through their life's plot twists. Together, we'll find the extraordinary hiding in your ordinary moments (trust me, it's there!). Whether through soul-deep conversations, pattern mapping, or weekly insights that make sense of life's grand (and sometimes puzzling) timing, I'm here to help you discover just how brilliant your story really is.

Every season, I dial into a long-distance cosmic catch-up with astrologer Marielle Croft. She’s about 3,000 miles away, but when we talk stars, it feels like we’re side by side, knees tucked up, tea in hand. She brings the celestial maps, and I bring the soul-prodding questions. Together, we translate the sky’s symbolic weather into something your soul can actually use. It’s not prediction. It’s more permission. And this summer is serving heat, heart, and a few well-placed wake-up calls.

Jonni:
Marielle, here we are again as we near the summer solstice. The longest day. The shortest night. And as always, the sky is staging something just as complex as the season it ushers in. I’m sensing both a cosmic wake-up call and a soft exhale in the background. What’s happening as the Sun shifts into Cancer this June 20th?

Marielle:
Yes, the solstice arrives on June 20th at 7:45 pm PDT, when the Sun leaves Gemini and enters Cancer. But it does so in tension, a square with Saturn and Neptune, who have just stepped into the first degrees of Aries. That early Aries point is what we call “God’s Point” in astrology. It’s the birth of the zodiac wheel, potent with forward-motion energy. When something squares that point, it’s like a door that doesn’t quite want to open yet.

Jonni:
So… we’re in a moment that looks like a beginning, but feels like a traffic jam at the edge of something new?

Marielle:
Exactly. This is a powerful crossroads. The Sun is conjunct Jupiter in Cancer, which is big-hearted, nurturing, and wants to expand care, family, and connection. But Saturn and Neptune are like two very different directors trying to rewrite the script. Saturn wants structure. Neptune wants dreams. Together, they’re dissolving illusions, especially the ones we’ve outgrown.

Jonni:
This is where I lean into the transpersonal. It’s not just that the old dream is dying. It’s that our souls are realizing we helped author that dream in the first place, and now we’re being asked to co-create something wiser.

When I hear you talk about Cancer and Aries facing off, I see the emotional body and the initiator. One says, “Protect what matters,” and the other says, “Burn it down and begin again.” No wonder this solstice feels tender and volatile, as well.

Marielle:
It is. But it’s also temporary, a flash in the pan. Most of these planets are just “testing the waters” in new signs. Saturn and Neptune will slip back into Pisces in the fall. Uranus will try Gemini on for size in July, then head back to Taurus.

Only Pluto is in it for the long haul. It’s now fully settled in Aquarius after twenty years in Capricorn.

Jonni:
So, we’re glimpsing what’s coming, but we’re not there yet. Like trying on a new life before you’ve packed up the old one.

What I love, though, is that there’s softness here too. You mentioned the Moon is exalted in Taurus at the solstice, and she’s joined by Venus?

Marielle:
Yes, on solstice day, the Moon has just entered Taurus, her favourite place. Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is sitting right at 15 degrees, the heart of the sign. This is a deeply feminine, earthy pairing. The Moon and Venus are both aligned with the Sun and Jupiter in harmony. There’s gentleness and beauty in this season, too. Mars is also in Virgo, lending patience and grounded effort.

After the initial cosmic jolt, this summer holds a chance to reconnect with nature, with community, with what really nourishes us.

Jonni:
So, even if we start the season at a standstill or questioning what’s real, we’re not stuck. We’re meant to pause, reroute, and remember what matters.

I can feel that invitation to slow down, to tend to our nervous systems and our root centre before racing into any kind of “new era.” I know you’ve said these high-frequency planets are activating our upper energy centres, which makes grounding essential.

Marielle:
Absolutely. It’s a time of internal recalibration. High-frequency shifts in the sky show up fast now in our bodies, relationships, and choices. We need time to digest it all. Sleep well, eat well, be present. What we used to bypass without paying much attention now shows up with consequences much quicker.

Jonni:
This makes so much sense when people say, “Why does everything feel so intense, even when nothing big is happening?” It’s not nothing. It’s the body feeling what’s shifting before the mind catches up.

What else should we be watching for this summer?

Marielle:
The New Moon on June 25th is a lovely follow-up. It brings the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter into a trio in Cancer, nurturing, expansive, deeply human. Then, in late July, the New Moon in Leo directly opposes Pluto in Aquarius. That’s a clarifying moment, like pulling weeds so the real growth can take root.

And in September, eclipse season returns. A total lunar eclipse in Pisces is followed by a solar eclipse in Virgo. It’s a full-circle moment. Letting go, quieting down, and preparing for balance again at the fall equinox arriving soon.

Jonni:
It feels like this whole season is a lesson in contrast: pressure and pause, friction and flow, vision and recalibration. For me, summer 2025 is about learning to feel our way forward, not force it.

Marielle:
Yes. Trust your intuition and stay close to what’s real and alive. The path will reveal itself in time.

Jonni:
Thank you, Marielle. I’ll be over here… weeding the inner garden and leaving space for the wildflowers. Until autumn’s story begins.

Marielle:

Thank you, Jonni. Wishing everyone a smooth and lovely summer.

So if you’ve been feeling like the world’s on pause and fast-forward at the same time… you’re just in the season. Summer 2025 is here to stir the pot, melt a few illusions, and remind you what actually matters when the noise dies down.

Let the heat soften you and the pauses teach you. The stars are here to remind you that timing isn’t just a calendar thing. It’s also a soul thing.

So, until autumn’s story starts, I’ll be over here, sun-warmed, wondering, and listening for what wants to grow next.
