Hey you. Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Here’s my 2 cents.
This winter, I’ve been noticing more than usual how love shows up in the most unexpected ways. I read about neighbours checking in on neighbours during storms or entire communities finding new ways to take care of each other. Not the kind of love that comes wrapped in red paper, but the kind that lands exactly when and where it’s needed.
And it got me thinking about different kinds of love letters…
Not the ones sealed with X’s and O’s, but the ones your soul has been writing to you all along.
Like that time you took the long way home for no apparent reason and bumped into exactly the person you needed to meet. Or that frustrating delay when your careful plans fell apart, only to discover later it kept you from being caught in that massive pile-up on the highway. Even that big disappointment that felt devastating until it freed you up for that *thing* you couldn’t have imagined was coming.
Last week, a client told me she followed a random impulse to call her old friend, only to find they were sitting there wrestling with a decision and needed exactly her perspective.
These are love letters written in the language of divine timing.
Think about it. Every time you’ve trusted your intuition, your soul was saying “I love you enough to keep you true to yourself.”
Every time life seemed to create an impossible coincidence was the universe writing “P.S. I see you.”
And those moments when everything fell apart so something else could come together were love notes saying “Trust this plot twist.”
I believe your timeline is actually a love story. Not the Hallmark kind, but the kind that transforms you and teaches you to trust the deeper rhythms of your life. The ones that show you how cherished you are by forces you can’t even see.
I think you know all this so I may be preaching to the choice, BUT I wanted to remind you of it so this Valentine’s Day, while everyone else is focused on external expressions of love, you can notice the love letters hidden in your everyday moments and smile. You can read between the lines of your life’s “coincidences” and wink. And you can thank your soul for never giving up on showing you the way.
The truth is, the greatest love story is written in the patterns and designs of your own becoming. And like the warmth between strangers during a snowstorm, the best love stories are the ones that show up in ways we never expected.
So, here’s to finding love letters in unlikely places (and maybe a little bit of chocolate too),
