What a time we’re living in.

As I write this, Los Angeles is experiencing devastating fires, with fierce Santa Ana winds pushing flames through neighbourhoods and communities. My heart is with everyone affected by this destruction.

You might wonder what this has to do with divine timing and the last conversation I wrote you about soul rhythms. But here’s something I’ve learned through decades of patterning soul work. 

Sometimes, the most revelatory messages about timing show up in what looks like chaos.

There’s something powerful happening in the timing of these fires. Right as we enter this new 18-month cycle I mentioned last week (yes, the one that perfectly aligned with my birthday), we’re seeing a literal burning away. Nature has always known about divine timing. How fire can be both destructive and regenerative, and how certain seeds only open after intense heat.

It reminds me of a conversation I had with a client last week. She said, “It feels like everything that isn’t really mine is being stripped away.” She wasn’t talking about the fires. She was describing changes in her life. But that’s how divine timing works. The personal and collective stories mirror each other in ways that are impossible to ignore.

Think about what’s being cleared in your own life right now. What structures or patterns are you being asked to release? 

Sometimes, divine timing shows up with gentle nudges (like my runner ducks still taking their sweet time before laying their first eggs). Other times, it arrives with the force of a Santa Ana wind, saying, “This change isn’t optional anymore.”

The key is recognizing that even in what looks like chaos, there’s a sacred rhythm unfolding. 

It’s about understanding your place in the bigger picture while honouring your own soul’s timing within it.

Over these next few weeks, as we move deeper into 2025’s invitation to blur the lines between sacred and mundane timing, pay attention to what’s being cleared away in your own life. 

What’s being burned away? 

What is asking to be released? 

What seeds of new possibility might be cracking open in the heat of transformation?
